Thank you everyone for your patience through the hurricane event.

Below is the updated flyer. The new dates are 10/4/19 - 10/6/19, changed to 3-day/2-day.  Please note to reserve your room at the Marriott in Palm Beach Gardens by September 13th (first early entry ends at that point as well). Thank you everyone for supporting this event.

It is with sincere disappointment I am required to write this post. Due to the incoming Hurricane and safety concerns for travelers, the Marriott and the FCA has made the difficult decision to reschedule the state championship.

Everyone registered will be fully refunded for their entry fee. We would ask for your patience with the refund process as it is our goal to have everyone refunded by close of business on Wednesday, September 4th. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at nmbtillis@gmail.com.

Much like the pieces being reset after a tough loss, we will have the resilience to continue and we will have  our championship at another time. I will be working diligently to find a new suitable date immediately for our tournament. I sincerely hope to have your continued support and again I apologize for this cancellation.

    Be safe and best wishes,

    Bryan Tillis

After about five years of stagnation and only a couple of events, the Tallahassee Chess Club is making an effort to reestablish meetings at Black Dog Cafe on Saturdays. The meetings will take place on Saturdays from 2pm-5pm at Black Dog Cafe (by Lake Ella). There are plans to hold regular tournaments in the future.
